Italy: union and employers’ organization in the temporary work industry renew their sector’s national collective agreement
On September 27, the Assolavoro and Assosomm employers’ associations signed the agreement renewing the national collective agreement in the temporary work industry, with the Nidil-CGIL, Felsa-Cisl and Uiltem.p unions. Signed for 3 years, it provides, among other things, for testing a new type of flexibility guaranteeing minimum remuneration in exchange for workers being available for a defined period of time, the improvement of the principles of equal treatment between workers, and a better social welfare and training system. In Italy, in 2012, the temporary sector employed 470,000 people in about 80 agencies with over 2,500 subsidiaries across the country, and more than 10,500 direct structural staff. (Ref. 130585)
