Italy : union representation and work at the center of the UIL 7th conference

Created in 1950, the UIL is the third Italian union organization with over two million members and two levels of representation: 1° horizontally through its regional unions, 107 provincial chambers and structures for assisting workers and retirees; 2° vertically, with 16 national unions of professional categories which negotiate the collective agreements and defend the individual and collective rights of workers of any category. For example, the iron and steel federation (Uilm) won the most votes at the RSU (unitary union representations) in 19 firms of the Fiat group and in six companies of the Finmeccanica group.
