The 'good work pact' (Il patto del buon lavoro), signed in July by the multi-utility group Hera (electricity, gas and water distribution and waste management), aims to guarantee a "just transition" through concrete initiatives in a number of areas. The agreement covers some 10,000 employees of the group, which operates mainly in central and northern Italy, and brings to a close eight months of complex negotiations between Hera and all the relevant branches of the Cgil, Cisl and Uil trade union centres.
Covering the period 2024-2027, the ‘good work pact’ allocates €60 million to training (a third of which will go to workplace safety) and includes 2,600 new hires and numerous initiatives to promote parenthood, diversity and professional development. The document not only sets out principles, but also puts in place a series of concrete initiatives based on figures and indicators.
