After the meeting at the Ministry of Labor failed on November 28, local public transport (LPT) unions confirmed the national 4-hour strike of December 16 to support the renewal of the national collective agreement, which expired in 2007 and whose negotiations are at a dead end. Unions have already organized 10 national strikes, including 6 24-hour strikes, but they didn’t change anything. Only the big 5-day drivers’ strike in Genoa gave results, as unions got the mayor to back down on the privatization of the company in charge of local transport.
