Real salaries rose by 6.8 per cent in Lithuania in 2005. The average monthly gross salary was 1276.2 litas (369.8 euros) last year, up 11% compared to 2004. In the public sector, the average was 1413.6 litas (409.4 euros) up 11.2 %. In the private sector, the figure was 1194 litas (345.8 euros) up 11.6% in a year.
