In spring 2014, several amendments to the labor code were adopted. These changes concern provisions over both collective relations (specifically on the right to strike) and individual relations (employment contracts).
Individual relations. On June 5, 2014, the Lithuanian parliament adopted, and then implemented on July 1, proposals aimed at easing administrative burdens surrounding the conclusion of employment contracts:
- Employers can now conclude written contracts of employment without having to provide the employee with any formal information regarding the contract or work conditions.
- Employers are now allowed to register employees actual working time and overtime as s/he wishes. There is no longer a comp
