The law provides for the following: 1/ taking into account employees’ pay from the first day of sickness; 2/ applying white-collar workers’ layoff pay system to blue-collar workers; 3/ extending white-collar workers’compensation system in the event of death to blue-collar workers; 4/ it is possible to exclude some functions of several provisions of the collective agreement applicable in the company; 5/ amendment of the extra hour system with the possibility to establish a time savings account;
…Luxembourg: adoption of the law introducing the single status
The historical difference between blue- and white-collar workers will disappear on January 1, 2009, according to the law on the single status permanently adopted by the Lower House on April 29, 2008. This text, which extends an agreement concluded by the social partners, will have important consequences on labor law, social protection and administrative staff management.
