On March 28, the social partners in Luxembourg’s temporary work industry renewed two collective agreements: that on agency workers and that on permanent employees in temporary work agencies. The key novelty for agency workers affects training between assignments. The agreement on permanent staff mostly affects pay.
The debates for these two agreements started in early September and were conducted at the same time. The previous agreements were to expire at the end of 2013 and the trade unions terminated them 3 months before the deadline in order to open talks for new collective agreements for 2014-17. The two union confederations in the country (OGBL and LCGB) and the FES (the Business Federation Luxembourg’s federation for the sector) signed the two on March 28.
