The governmental Council which took place on July 6, 2007, approved a Grand-Duchy draft regulation amending the status of Luxembourgish railroad (CFL) staff. This text, which aims at improving CFL's competitiveness in the context of the sector's liberalization, transposes the provisions concerning working time in the 2005/47 directive passed on July 18, 2005. This draft results from an agreement reached between the government and social partners to enable CFLs “to remain viable and competitive on a liberalized market, notably in the freight domain”, the government specified.
