The law on the information and consultation of workers was permanently voted on April 29, 2008 by the House of Representatives. It transposes into national law Directive 2002/14 of March 11, 2002 establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees. (Ref. 080364)
This text follows a first bill, more ambitious but disputed by employers and the Council of State, because it surpassed the Directive’s imperatives. The new law is based on a bill adopted in September 2007 (see our dispatch No. 070758) which remained faithful to the Directive’s wording.
