The two European directives adopted in 2000 in order to fight against discriminations were finally transposed by Luxembourg by a law of November 28th 2006. It transposes directive 2000/43 from June 29th 2000 relating to the implementation of the principle of equal treatment between people without distinction of race or ethnic origin and directive 2000/78 of 27 November 2000 creating of a general framework for equal treatment at work. This law prohibits any direct or indirect discrimination based on religion or beliefs, handicap, age, sexual orientation, true or supposed race or ethnic group. Harassing or incitation to harassing are regarded as discriminations. It has a broad field of application, since it applies to all the persons, public and private, physical or moral, including public organizations.
