On 15 July, Malta’s parliament unanimously adopted a bill on health and safety at work. Described as “revolutionary” by Prime Minister Robert Abela (Labour Party), the bill aims to improve accident prevention in the workplace. To this end, it introduces heavy criminal penalties for breaches of workplace safety rules.
