Mexico: reform proposed to cut working hours and increase holiday allowance
On 20 September, Mexico's ruling Morena party presented various labour law amendments related to human rights. The changes presented to the Mexican senate by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's party include an increase in holiday allowances from six to 18 days per year and working days of seven hours instead of eight at present. The proposal also includes an extension of paternity leave from five to 20 paid working days.
