On 27 January, Valter Sanchez, IndustriALL Global Union General Secretary together with Florent Menegaux, CEO of Michelin Group signed an agreement that sets out in detail the membership composition of this global social dialog body and how its members will be designated. The Global Works Council will operate as an ‘observatory’ to address Michelin’s global economic, social, and environmental developments and it will aim to improve the support provided during economic transformations that occur throughout the countries in which it operates.
Works council composition and designating the members. The body will be made up of fifty membership positions ‘allocated by country and based on group entity headcount in the countries or regions where the group operates’, and will range from 1 representative for entities with between 501 and 1,500 employees, to 5 representatives for entities with over 20,000 employees.
