More than 40% of French and 20% of UK workers could quit their jobs because of a lack of meaning

Businesses are being forced to reimagine their HR strategies in a world of work that has been permanently disrupted by Covid-19, and because of the Great Resignation phenomenon that since 2021 has been affecting several Western countries. Two surveys, one French and one UK, published on 20 and 21 June respectively, reveal that,in addition to salary levels amid rising inflation, it is the question of the meaning of work (usefulness of work, career progression, QWL) that is fuelling this phenomenon.

Nearly 28% of French respondents indicated they would plan to leave a job because it lacked meaning and 32% have already thought about doing so.
