The Frijns Commission, which advises the government on amendments to make to the Tabaksblat code of good behavior for businesses, is going to announce, on December 10, 2008, new recommendations aimed at the bonuses of the CEOs and managers of listed companies. From now on, all bonuses will have to be strictly related to companies' performances in the long run. (Ref. 080980)

have an “appropriate link” with annual wages. This “appropriateness” is still
not very clear, write the Het Financieele Dagblad economic daily. In recent months, the idea that bonuses should not
exceed annual income has grown. For instance, it is what Wouter Bos, Labor
Finance Minister, asked for the managers of the ING bank on October 20, before helping
the bank with €10 billion.
