‘s inspection services (Sociale Inlichtingen en Opsporingsdienst, SIOD) controlled 70 temporary work agencies and found out that 48 were “fraudulent.” (Ref. 090598)

This is better than in 2007, when SIODs only exposed 32 agencies. In total, 61 people working for these dishonest agencies were fined last year, and their case was sent to the prosecutor in view of possible charges. In addition, SIODs gave 27.1 million euros in fines in 2008 to 322 people and 64 businesses. This is much less than in
