…Netherlands: parliament backs compulsory internship allowances
On 2 December, the Dutch House of Representatives approved a motion put forward by a Socialist Party MP, urging the Conservative government to introduce a mandatory statutory internship allowance for all students. The measure has long been advocated by the CNV Youth Union, which is pressing the parties that won the recent general election to incorporate it into the coalition agreement.
