The new “agreement of intent for a more integrative occupational environment” (Intensjonavtale om et mer inkluderende arbeidsliv/IA) was signed on March 4 for the 2014-18 period, by the government, the key employers and union organizations, and the State as employer. It aims to define major guidelines to better integrate sick employees in the labor market, to reduce the number of sick leaves and to encourage people to work longer. Together with simpler regulations to monitor sick leaves, the new agreement was welcomed as the end of a “sanction regime.”
Grounds for the IA agreement
