On 14 March, a salary agreement was reached by the two Norwegian confederations – the LO (the Confederation of Trade Unions) and the NHO (Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise). The agreement sets a framework for a 2.4% wage increase and provisions to boost low salaries. However, this feature risks complicating local negotiations in sectors with the lowest-paid jobs.
Quick negotiations. Having kicked off on 6 March, the negotiations have been conducted relatively quickly. The LO’s aim was to avoid another year in which real wages go down, prioritising a focus on the lowest-paid workers and equality between men and women.
