On 10 September, Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk announced a ‘company-wide transformation to simplify its organisation’, which will involve significant job cuts. In all, 9,000 jobs face the chop (11% of its workforce), including 5,000 in Denmark, where the company employs more than 34,000 people.
