A bill on collective agreements has been tabled in Poland’s Parliament by the new pro-European centrist government led by Donald Tusk since the beginning of December 2023. The bill implements the European directive on adequate minimum wages, which requires 80% of employees to be covered by collective bargaining.
On 25 June 2024, the Ministry of Labour submitted a bill to Parliament aimed at breathing new life into collective bargaining and increasing the number of agreements concluded. The text, which applies to companies with at least 50 employees in which at least one trade union is present, imposes the obligation to enter into negotiations once every two years on issues such as working hours, overtime, pay conditions and work organization.
