The Polish Government has promised that workers will not have to work longer on Saturdays in December to compensate for free time during Christmas (two days in Poland). This means employees will have all Saturdays free for the first time. This change has been added to the Polish Labour Code by a government bill. Until now – which was often criticized not only by trade unions but by the Polish Ombudsman as well – the number of hours which an employee had to work during a month was cut only by 8
