In accordance with a 2006 law, all Polish public companies have to be privatized by June 30, 2007. Privatization operations lead to changes in regulations concerning employees' representation at the supervisory board. (Ref. 070364)
According to the Treasure Ministry, by the end of 2006, the State still owned 100% of the capital in 24 companies and one banking institution, and it controlled 1,289 companies, 882 of which with partial holding, and 407 with majority holding.
