Portugal: draft flexibility agreement at the Autoeuropa VW factory in Lisbon to avoid layoffs and guarantee production

e management of the Pamela d’Autoeuropa VW factory, near Lisbon, and the workers’ committee (staff representation structure) reached a draft agreement, on June 5, on the introduction of flexible working time in exchange for maintained employment. The text, which still needs to be ratified by workers, determines the modalities of work on Saturday. The Portuguese company is trying to cut costs to produce a new model which will fill its order book. (Ref. 090614)
