Portugal: first employment forum for Portuguese-speaking African countries

The first recruitment forum for Portuguese-speaking Africa took place on March 7 and 8, 2008 in Lisbon. Created by Global Career Company, an international recruitment and consulting agency, this forum enabled to gather 26 multinational companies and hundreds of applicants. (Ref. 080207)

During this forum, there were about 220 vacant positions in one of the five Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP, Portuguese for: Países Africanos de Língua Oficial Portuguesa): Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe. Some of these countries have a booming economy. Such is the case for Angola, which has an annual growth rate of about 20%. “This can explain why 98% of our applicants are from this country.
