Nissan and Renault's CEO, Carlos Ghosn, announced on September 1, 2007, that he wanted to build a new "low-cost" factory in Morocco in Tangier's free trade zone by the second semester of 2010. The factory should create 6.000 direct jobs and 30.000 indirect jobs and car equipment manufacturers arer invited to go along with the investment.
