Romania: days off work to be granted for medical screening

On 14 October, the Romanian senate adopted a bill aimed at promoting the early detection of illnesses such as diabetes, certain cancers and cardiovascular disease. The bill proposes the introduction of two days’ paid leave per calendar year, to be granted by employers at the request of employees to carry out medical check-ups.
