On 12 September, Romanian finance minister Marcel-Ioan Boloș announced an increase in the gross monthly minimum wage, taking effect from 1 October. This figure will increase from 3,000 lei (€604) to 3,300 lei (€664), an increase of 10%. The possibility of a further revaluation from 1 January 2024 will depend on how the governing coalition develops, the minister explained. “It’s a decision that depends on how the discussions go,” he added.
