The Dutch construction group, the building and wood workers' international (BWWI) and the Dutch unions FNV and CNV signed, on April 11, 2007, an open ended international framework agreement (IFA), and its goal is to promote and guarantee workers' rights all around the world. (Ref. 070359)
The agreement, reached after several years’ negotiations, is the tenth IFA signed by the BWWI. It will cover some 27,000 employees in the world. In reference to the international Labour Organization (ILO’s) fundamental conventions, the group commits, notably :
- not to appeal to forced labour or child labour,
- to ensure equality of treatment and non-discrimination of workers and to guarantee equal pay,
