Saint-Gobain: additional agreement to the agreement establishing the EWC

On May 13, 2008, the management of the French group Saint-Gobain and the European trade unions Emcef and Feccia, as well as their affiliates, adopted an additional agreement to the agreement establishing the EWC of the group (entitled the "Saint Gobain Convention for European Dialogue"). A new negotiation session will soon be launched to clarify the information and consultation procedure while the bureau of the EWC recently criticized the management for the late announcement of the ongoing restructuring. The new additional agreement – the fifth since the original agreement signed on May 12, 1992 – is currently up for signature at the level of the national trade unions.
