Siemens creates a solidarity fund for BenQ Mobile employees

To counter growing criticisms, Siemens decided to create a solidarity fund for German employees of BenQ Mobile, threatened to lose their job. The fund would be endowed with 35 million euros. (Ref 06970)

The German group which had sold its cell phone division to the Taiwanese group BenQ in 2005 has been challenged by trade unions since BenQ announced it would leave Germany (see article n ° 06927). 35 million euros will be granted to finance the retraining of Mobile BenQ employees.
