Siemens: the IG Metall pointedly supports Czech employees’ strike at Siemens Rail Vehicles

The German metalworkers' union IG Metall openly supports the strike which took place on August 20 in the Praguish factory of the subsidiary which produces rail vehicles for Siemens, SKV (see our article No. 080616). It wants the group's management to treat Czech employees fairly. A conspicuous token of solidarity whereas the German organization is suspected of having signed an agreement to Czech workers' disadvantage. Siemens' union coordination, gathered by the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), also supports the strike. (Ref. 080623)
