A study conducted by a group of researchers of the universities of Almeria and Barcelona reveals that the arrival of immigrant workers has accelerated the professional evolution of Spanish workers towards more qualified job positions. (Réf. 06488)
The study, directed by Pablo Pumares, professor of human geography at the university of Almeria and specialist on immigration questions, analyzes the consequences of the massive arrival of immigrant workers in the Spanish labour market over the period 2000-2004. The study, launched in June 2005, also focused on certain more specific aspects like ascending professional mobility or geographical mobility of immigrant workers throughout the country.
