The CCOO-Industry and MCA-UGT unions announced they concluded an agreement with the installation companies that work for Spanish telephone operator Telfónica Movistar in a bid to control both chain sub-contracting as well as unstable employment for technicians who manage the setting up and maintenance of telephone and telecommunications network infrastructures.
The agreement, struck on 11 February 2016 sets out the main thrusts of a first time framework addressing working conditions in a sector that has not any specific collective agreement and that currently depends on the metals sector agreement. The agreement is the result of commitments made on 05 May 2015 (c.f. article No. 9058) by the union and employers’ representatives to organize the sector and respond to the primary demands of the technicians, who had mobilized in protest at a deterioration
