Spain: agreement on the closure of Delphi’s factory in Cadix

Unions, managers and the regional government reached, on Thursday, July 5, an agreement on the closure of the Puerto Real factory and the dismissal of its 1.600 employees. After 24 hours of almost uninterrupted negotiations, the three present parties agreed that employees should get 45 days for every year worked, with a maximum of 42 monthly payments. The total of the measures would amount to 120 million euros. The agreement also plans the handover to the Andalusia region of about 160 million active workers who, according to the Europa Press agency, should be supervised jointly by the region and unions.
