The agreement signed on February 8 by Gerardo Diaz Ferran for the CEOE employers’ organization, Ignacio Fernandez Toxo for Workers’ Commissions and Candido Mendez for UGT was stuck on wage claims for months. While employers’ organizations advocated a zero raise, unions wouldn’t go below the 2% inflation rate determined by the Bank of Spain for 2010. The agreement provides for a 1% wage increase in 2010, between 1 and 2% in 2011 and between 1.5 and 2.5% in 2012.
