For 2 years, all collective agreements that are renegotiated lower the advantages provided for in the previous agreements.  The difficult ongoing negotiations for the collective agreement in the catering industry in the Balearic islands are a telling example of employers’ tough stands and unions’ difficulties in collective bargaining as all the parts of the Spanish economy are trying to be more competitive.
