Food delivery platform Glovo has been fined €50 million by the labour inspectorate for evading its obligation to employ more than 10,614 couriers. The company will also have to pay €29 million in lieu of unpaid social security contributions.
Glovo dealt a heavy blow. The Spanish labour inspectorate has fined fast food delivery platform Glovo a record €79 million. Glovo has been found at fault for having 10,614 couriers working under the self-employed regime, instead of having them categorised as employees in accordance with the law in force since August 2021.
