Spanish Industry Minister Reyes Maroto has presented draft legislation designed to mitigate the impact of industry restructuring and job cuts. The text, which must now be negotiated with the parliamentary groups, provides that industrial companies will have to notify the Industry Department and the relevant regional administrations in advance of any collective redundancies, in order to seek alternative measures for both the employees and the sector.
