On 26 October, Spain’s Labour Minister Yolanda Díaz announced that she is studying the potential for redundancy payments that can be tailored to individual circumstances. The Minister put forward the idea of adjusting compensation amounts depending on how the employment loss will affect the person’s future career. This would involve ‘reparative and restorative’ compensation, which could vary according to age, gender, training, degree of specialization, and the objective possibility regaining employment.
