22 companies from amongst the major retail names and food industry labels have got together to launch a program of grants and ‘dual’ training aimed at students and young university graduates.
On 29 October, the AECOC (Asociación Española de Codificación Comercial), the Spanish Wholesale Consumption Association, announced the launch of a ‘Pact for Youth Employment’ in which the signatory companies commit to facilitating youth employment in Spain where 46% of the country’s under 25s are currently unemployed, thereby opening the door to a sector employing some 5 million and accounting for 20% of the country’s GDP.
