After almost a whole year of debate before the Spanish Parliament, the Law on Equality between women and men (L.O. 3/2007 of 22 March 2007) has been finally approved. With 78 articles and 28 additional provisions, it is a very complex legal document which amends more than 20 other Laws and transposes four European Directives: (1) Council Directive 76/207/EEC on the implementation of the principle of equal treatment for men and women as regards access to employment, vocational training and promotion, and working conditions; (2) Directive 2002/73/EC, amending said Directive 76/207; (3) Council Directive 2004/113/EC implementing the principle of equal treatment
