The Workers’ Commissions (CCOO) in Spain have introduced a new coordination platform on all of Repsol’s petrochemical complexes, in order to join union forces and to defend both employees of the main company and those working for small auxiliary companies, who are not so well protected. This new internal coordination platform is a result, in part, of the merger of the metal and chemical industry federations.
These new coordinating bodies will integrate representatives and affiliates from the CCOO at Repsol, as well as representatives from dozens of small or medium sizes auxiliary companies, which work for Repsol at their sites. Their objective is to encourage joint work and to analyse the situation of employees working in refineries, in order to defend their rights, no matter what company they belong to.
