Sweden: Ericsson implements training on better working conditions for all its managers

Arbetsmiljöverket imposes working on the labor environment. The Working Environment Act imposes that businesses systematically work on this topic, following the Arbetsmiljöverket’s directives. The employer has to examine working conditions, evaluate risks, take the necessary measures and monitor the implementation of these measures. Workers and safety representatives joined this work and are contributing. Indeed, the Arbetsmiljöverket thinks that it is important to use employees’ experience and take into account their point of view on risks of illness or accidents. This collaboration should lead to a working environment policy clearly listing actions to carry out to avoid diseases or accidents and to create good working conditions. Psychological, physical and social situations that have an impact on the working environment are taken into account. When measures to prevent diseases or accidents can’t be implemented at once or shortly, the Arbetsmiljöverket imposes the establishment of an action plan (handlingsplan). This plan is a written document listing the measures targeted and who is responsible for their enforcement. The measures have to be described as precisely as possible.
