Mediators helped with the agreement reached on September 17, 2013 between the SEKO (service and communication) union and the Almega service employers’ organization for the postal and cargo industry. It puts an end to a difficult period punctuated by a strike notice for September 18 and tensions between unionized employees and management at Post Nord. Origin of the disagreement. The conflict came from a different view of the way to calculate the wage increase. SEKO wanted the increase to be expressed in cash but Almega wanted a percentage. SEKO claims this is a big issue for its members as communication wages are low and an increase calculated in cash leads to a higher effective increase for low wages.
