The Swedish government has just presented to the Parliament (Riksdag) a bill to amend the provisions fighting against discrimination. In addition to preventing discrimination based on age, the bill toughens sanction for the violation of the principle of equal treatment. (Ref. 080219)
One law to fight all kinds of discrimination. This bill replaces 6 existing laws (the law on gender equality, and the laws against discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnic identity, handicap and sexual orientation), and it will enable to fight against discrimination based on age and sexual identity.
