New rules designed to give parents greater flexibility in taking parental leave have come into force with effect from 1 July 2024, bringing two major changes. Firstly, parents will be able to take parental leave until their child is 15 months old (compared with 12 months at present), and the duration for leave taken at the same time will be doubled from 30 to 60 days.
