UK supermarket chain Tesco has significantly increased its hourly pay with effect from 1 April, taking the wage level slightly above the Real Living Wage. The group has also announced an increase in paternity leave to six weeks fully paid.
Tesco and the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (USDAW) have reached an agreement to increase hourly pay in shops from £11.02 to £12.02 (€13 and €14 respectively) from 1 April, marking an increase of 9.1%.
