Management at American Airlines - recently formed after the merger of American Airlines and US Airways signed a 5-year pay agreement with the Allied Pilots Associations (APA), which promotes social harmony and it is hoped will facilitate the new company's corporate culture. The 5-year deal gives pilots an immediate 23% increase in pay followed by annual 3% rises until 2019.
95% of the 15,000 pilots cast their vote and 66% of those voted for the deal.
